FAQs

We’re here to help. Find quick answers to the most frequently asked questions right here.

Is Spoony really 100% free?

You bet. Spoony is and always will be free to use.

Do I have to display my labels?

That's up to you. When you sign up, we’ll ask if you’re neurodivergent, chronically ill, and/or disabled so we can better understand you and your needs. Whether you want to display your answers on your profile is your call.

Is Spoony international?

We sure are. If you’re in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, we can connect you with people who get you.

How do you keep Spoonies safe?

We have strict community guidelines and moderation from bots and actual humans, too.

I'm an ally. Can I join Spoony?

Of course, we love allies. While Spoony is purpose-built for people who are neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled– allies are welcome, too.

Will Spoony be available for iOS and Android users?

Yes, eventually. Spoony will be released on iOS on the Apple App Store first, with Android being released on Google Play not long after.

What is your Spoon Status™ and how does it work?

Our Spoon Status™ is a status update inspired by the spoon theory (just like our name). It lets you easily communicate your energy levels to the community and us, too.

What is spoon theory?

Spoon theory is a way of explaining the limited energy and capacity that chronically ill, disabled and neurodivergent people have for daily tasks using "spoons" as units of energy. And, it's at the heart of everything we do at Spoony.

How do you use my data?

We take your privacy seriously and have robust procedures in place to ensure that all data we collect is protected. And, we’ve developed our policies in line with the strict privacy laws that govern us in Australia. This is all set out in our Privacy Policy. All information collected is securely stored and is protected by our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Do you sell personal data to advertisers or third parties?

Absolutely not. Your privacy and safety is important to us and we'll always do our best to keep Spoony a safe space for the community.
